It’s my birthday! Another year around the sun completed. 35 years in the making. What an achievement.

It’s not very sunny at all today, with a light drizzical mist. No art created today but I plan to venture to Dunham Massey, a local National Trust park, to have lunch with my mum, so maybe a small sketch book and some watercolours can be brought along. I may even persuade her to join in with me, and we can make a joint creation. Feeling grateful for this life and this wonderful world I get to live in.

I will update with any art that is created, at a later date. So for now, here is one I made earlier.

After a lovely stroll around Dunham Massey with mum, we sat down for lunch and Dave joined us.

I pulled out the watercolours and got to “work” on a flower painting. I took a photo of the gardens whilst we had our short stroll and used this as a reference. It was a really calming and pleasant walk.

I’m not actually sure on the name of the flower I painted but I really like the way it flops over so effortlessly and yet so elegant at the same time. Elegant and floppy. The speckled purples scattered across the petals, like a slow burning lantern, almost strawberry shaped when fully closed.

I have included the original photo that I used as a reference for my own painting.
